The Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) fund raising dinner was held on January 2009. The dinner was an important event and marked a new chapter for STTA. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was the guest-of-honour for the event. Other VIPs, contributing organisations, Olympic medalist and players were also present. The national television channel was there to provide a live feed of the Prime Minister's speech for the evening news.
Bringing back the wining moments of the Olympics was the atmosphere that STTA wanted to create for the dinners. Sticky SPY was given the task to recreate the special moment with the presentation of the STTA Victorious video.
We created two videos for the dinner event. The first video was to bring the images from the STTA 2009 Calendar to live. In December 2008, Sticky SPY created a photo calendar for STTA. Those images were used as a basis to create the first video slide-show. The video slide-show served as the opening to the dinner. It started with captivating images of players engaging them with memories great moments in the game. The slide-show was repeated another 2 times with an instrumental version of the music arrangement playing in the background as the dinners continue to enjoy their dinner.
The second video was played just before the guest-of-honor made his speech. The video started with a black screen and then bouncing white balls leading to the opening screen of table tennis bats. Three hours of raw footage from the Olympics and other tournaments were edited extensively down to 8 minutes showing victorious moments. Special effects were applied to bring out the highlights and focus. Still frames were extracted from the video and incorporated into the final reel to create the freezing effects of defining moments.
As the players scored the wining point, the dinners cheered as if they were there watching the Olympics game. The video create emotions. It captured the audience attention and brought about their emotions. The atmosphere was great and memorable. The video created stickiness to the minds of the dinners. The bouncing balls was a simple concept but it was unique. They were Sticky. Very Sticky.
