Are you someone who is better with words than images? Well, many of us are. Words can be easier to compose than images. Slides with images are interesting. However, when time is not on our side, we might need to fall back on using just text in our presentation slides.
We can make text only slides interesting as long as we do not use bullets. There are many ways to do this by varing font styles, changing colors, mixing different sizes, etc.
One very important thing to note is that we must make sure that whatever text we put on our slides must be big enough for the last row to see. Of course, we shouldn't just directly convert our bullet points by just styling the text. We will still need to simplify those wordy slides using keywords techniques to reduce the complexity.
Another technique is to position the text other than the centre of the slide. The are other positions that we can place our text. Right, left, top, bottom, etc. Try them out to see what looks good.
Sometimes we can make a word really big so it fills the whole slide. This can also be an interesting way to catch the audience attention. Or create contrast with multiple words. One really big word, and other smaller in size.
There is really no limit on how we can creatively design our text only slides. Think out of the box. Do something that you never thought you might do with your slides. You'll be surprise how well it might turn out to be.
Here are a few examples of text only slides.
Hope you are having fun doing this.
